Points and Levels

Tue Apr 12, 2011, 4:26 AM by mapal:iconmapal:
Welcome || Competition Levels || Points and Levels || Registering & Judging Shows || Sanctioned Events || Members

Rules:

- You are responsible for keeping up with points and notifying the group when your horse is ready to advance.
- Art from other artists will count, but we prefer you use your own horse as well.
- While we do use the 'honor system' when you total your points, I will have staff members who will check.  Mistakes happen and cheaters exist.
- Traced drawings are accepted as long as it is stated that the drawing is traced and given proper credit to the photographer. Same goes for photo backgrounds.
- Pre-made linarts/reusing your own linearts will not give you any points.
- All images must have the horse's name and your stable in the artist comments.

Please use this setup on your horses ref, this make it easier for us to check your point score:

what happens if the person deletes the journal so you're unsure of weather its sanctioned to the dressage league, do I just count it as a normal show entry

Question - not sure how this image would stack regarding points.
I am (assuming -.-) thinking that this would count as one image? Or would it count as a head shot and a full body?

It will count as both fullbody and headshot ^^ Just write it down clearly in the point section, so there's no confusion as to where the points are coming from, when we count them :3

it's kinda sad that the AUSE-Olympic doesn't even qualify for elite show ... it couldn't be considered as because it's the Olympic, nah ? xD

actually ... there was more than 15 registrants for the dressage class, but less then 15 completed their entries .. does it count then ?

If its a show that requires pre-registration, it needs to have more than 15(first time)/30(second+ time) registrants, if not all sent in their entry that doesnt matter on the Elite status. If you want to suggest AUSE-Olympics as a sanctioned show, you may do that, and just add that it qualifies as an Elite Show.

dressage-league.deviantart.com… here's the list of sanctioned events. Yes you can still suggest it. It will then go on the previous sanctioned events journal.

Are vet inspections for 3DE applicable here? I'm currently working on my inspection for my mare's World Tournament entries, and she's only in 3DE ^^

I think we can amend the rules so a 3DE vet inspection has to have proof of a dressage entry actually being completed... so as long as the horse has a dressage entry to go along with the vet inspection it will count.

In terms of placement, what would a Distinguished Performance placement be in terms of points? ( Exemplary performance was a step above it)

I'd call that a Reserve Grand Champion if it meant you were 'second place' among all of the entries at the show.

Do you add the fact that it has entered a show on top of a fullbody.headshot scor? for example: Fullbody + minishow = 7 points, or just 5 / 2?

Would a horse be considered a 3 star if they participated in an elite show, but haven't placed 1- 3 in at least 2 shows, or is that horse still considered 1 star, even if they have the required amount of points and the qualifying show?

By the looks of it, Kalinka is currently a One Star Horse

- Your "Weatherbroke Mini-event is a sanctioned show so that adds 5 points.
- One of the show links (right above the minishow link) doesn't work.

To get a Two Star rating you will have to show her until you get two first place scores. It doesn't matter if it's a mini-show or full show. I would suggest looking for shows to add to the "Sanctioned Show" list and possibly the "Elite Show" so you can advance to Three or Four Stars with only a little more effort :) If you find any, just send a note to suggest them to the list :)

Q) Do only dressage classes count or do similar classes such as show hack count also where dressage moves / collection are performed?

We would prefer it to be a dressage class, but if the image is of the horse performing a dressage type move we will likely count it :)

This one (First Annual Ironstone Invitational) [link] can count as an Elite Show

(I'm sure some others will count as Elite Shows as well. The very bottom of this journal [link] tells you what makes an Elite Show

I'm just getting started with this stable thing so I thought I'd ask a few questions.

1. Would references done on a lineart still count? I'm one of the types that prefers that a reference just be a simple image that shows markings for future use. I don't like wasting time making individual pictures when I could be doing other things. xD Is this all right?

2. Are you accepting all breeds and unnatural colored horses? My stable focuses on Zorses and Unicorn Zorses both natural and unnatural colored. My only dressage horse right now is a solid black draft unicorn. ^^;

3. It says that it is 'preferred' that only 1/4 of entries are mini-shows. I prefer to only enter RNG type shows as I don't feel confidant enough with my horse drawing skills to waste my time with effort shows. Can I still join or is this group not for me?

4. If a horse can competed in 2 dressage shows (and placed second in one of them), is a training picture still required for beginner?

Thank you so much for taking the time to look (and hopefully answer). ^-^

1. A basic reference counts as long as it shows a general profile with markings. :) You may use the single lines.

2. We accept any horse and part horse as long as it performs dressage

3. Mini shows simply mean that you only are required to draw headshots that are sketchy and likely have no backgroudns(aka not much effort). We don't care if the shows are judged rng or effort lol. It depends on if you are desiring to be a really high level or don't mind taking your time to reach whatever you can get.

4. Yes, a training image is required. It doesn't have to be super fancy, but shows the horse with dressage tack in some sort of dressage pose. Riders are optional.

Thank you for your questions :)

Thank you so much for getting back to me! Sounds like I can definitely partake in this group. ^-^ I don't mind taking my time with it though. Counting the required training I need to do (but not counting the Dressage League Sanctioned show) my boy already has 49 points. I don't think it's going to take all that long to get him anywhere. ^-^

To register our horses / stable do we just submit their references or is there a note involved? I searched the journals and couldn't find anything.

You may submit the references as long as you have the stable name and the current points listed on the horse's reference.

Several of the folders aren't open for submission (Advanced for example). Should I just put him in unsorted and the staff place him where he needs to be? Just added all his points and images so he should be good to go.

Question about show entries

it says full body = 5
then it says full show = 4

would that make a full body entry for a full competition = 9cp? or am i missing something? ^^'
